It has happened. We drove our Citroen C6 for a year (8000km) without problems now, except for a new wheel bearing 6 months ago.
In this time we've had our license plates stolen. Went up a mountain, had it on a cruise ferry to Germany, where I was terrified of the hydraulic suspension breaking. Drove it on the autobahn at 180+ kph and it still works! Apparently babying French-built over-engineered cars helps.
Now let's wait what they find at the next service interval...
PS: I still cannot wrap my head around the global character of it. French car, British engine, German ECU, Italian on-board computer/sat-nav & Japanese gearbox. It's astonishing they managed to not overlap strikes etc. to get the thing actually built.

8000 kilometers in a year? My Mercury has done 28000 kilometers since February. Yikes.

It's really a weekend/trips car. To get to work I need to pay $10 in tolls, not even parking, which is something like $50 for a day (not entitled to a parking space, because no kids). Public transport costs me $100 a month, easy decision

The roads in France are shorter because they use kilometers :3

Ngggh this car. Looks like you're a dignitary from the year 2030. Love it.

Of course, I forgot about that when I translated my 'Murican mileage into km.

Had he actually driven to France the yearly kilometrage would be far higher. It doesn't have Norwegian plates for nothing.

I wonder how many people reading this will be surprised by the fact that (a) engines are still made in Britain and (b) Citroën used them.

I know the diesel V6s are Jaguar engines. They also used them for the S-Type Diesel and I think the later 3.0L one is essentially the engine in my Grandma's XF.

Strictly speaking they're Ford/PSA joint venture engines. PSA did the smaller ones, Ford did the V6 and V8 for their (at the time) Jaguar and Land Rover subsidiaries. Citroen used them on the C6 and there were a couple of other models as well. So far as I know PSA no longer use them. Ford themselves have never had any use for them in Ford branded vehicles.

It's not uncommon for people's dailies in Europe that they use for commuting and everything else to not exceed 15000 km per year. Many do less, in fact.

There is a parking garage at work with a maximum amount of employee cars parked there. Every year they do a lottery, where people who have kids and who live more than 30km away have higher odds of winning. Since I don't fall in either category it doesn't even make sense to sign up.

Yup, 2007 with the 2.7 V6 diesel. It was imported from Germany, since I don't believe they ever officially sold it in Norway.

Yeah, you seem to be living in South America (a bit of checking on your profile). On the C6 Owners forum there is one person who imported a C6 to Aruba, which means the car standing still for weeks while the parts get ordered from France.
I did see a C6 in Hong Kong though, there are quite a few French cars there, because they have to make them RHD for the UK anyway.

Not sure, I think they capped that as well now since people thought that would be a great loophole to get a Tesla and park at the office.

Yeah, I lived in England for the first 10 years of my life, so I can see how such a small amount of mileage could accrue over time. The only reason our Hyundai Atos racked up the km's is because of my dad's daily commute to Barnsley, other than that and a weekly Tesco trip we walked or took the bus everywhere else.
At the same time, I am essentially forced to drive everywhere here in FL, because the "public transportation" is literally one bus per hour, per stop. Also, for several of those months February to now, I visited my parents (1100 mile round trip) so its easy to see how my car bought with 74k miles will soon have 94k before the year is out.
